QC Is Just Bored.

Really Lazy to Blog

Haha

Just that every bit of me is into work + more work. Although I screwed up SChO. I still have ARP to complete.

Upon failing for the nth times, Patrick finally revealed to us that he already has the products that we were trying to make. So, BIG WIN! We are now onto the next step LOLz I certainly hope that the lab skills we learnt will go a long way.

Anyways, ANCO was fun. I never knew I can work for 4 days and 3 nights without sleep and still shout on the parade >.< I'm now even more grateful to the sirs and ma'ams who organized the ANCO during my time.

It's already past 9pm...need to sleep :D Till next time then!

Merry (early) Xmas!

Thank You My Friends

For making this week such an awesome one! I know there's more coming, but I JUST can't take it anymore!...THANK YOU!

#On the 17th...

Was the big day of my 5 years in NUS High: Singapore Chemistry Olympiad. We started out with high spirits (camwhoring away and doing cheers), all ready to fight a big war. But the paper turned out to be... Instead of the expected 4hr paper, it was only 3 hrs. Instead of 60 or more MCQs, it was 40. Instead of 6 questions with parts a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p..., it was ONLY ONE PARAGRAPH per question for FRQ. In addition, there was one pure math (integration) question; isn't it CHEMISTRY Olympiad? And the organic questions were of the similar format & layout as our school's, with the last FRQ question being almost exactly the same as this semester's Advanced Organic Test 2's 6 mark synthesis question (and it was 10 marks worth in the Olympiad paper =.=).

Having said that, I'm not really sure of my chances. Cos if it's easy for me, it would be the same for many others. And I made really stupid errors: questions where most people did wrongly I did correctly...but where most people scored, I screwed up. So it really depends on luck after this.

The really funny thing was that I managed to smuggle 3 questions out. I wrote all of them on my hand using water proof marker :D Hope this can help my juniors in the coming years.

-------------------

After Olympiad, went to have dinner with Vivian. A bit sad for it's only two of us (Diong was wishing me happy birthday from the airport before boarding, while Je Hong, at around the same time, got detained at the airport for 2hrs cos he bought back a shuriken from Kyoto for my birthday XD).

But I must say, Vivian gave me the most meaning present in my entire life. Like really, it's just a small box but I think I will keep with me for the rest of my life like a time capsule >.< Okay, although I've made a promise to post everything on facebook (including "hot babe no. 2" stuck on my forehead)...but now i dunno leh...after I've shown it to JH, I kinda realized that there's a lot of secrets bout me in that box...and if JH can be really stupid, so can many other people :P I will think bout it. Hahas.

#The DAY...
First thing after 12am, I was raped by...I dunno...many guys?, as part of the glorious hostel tradition. LOL. Well, at least they didn't open my legs and ram me into the goalpost :D

After I woke up in the morning. I didnt feel like going to school at all. Cos the GREAT QC foresaw that things like this would happen:

they are holding a rubber band with their mouths

So I took my attendance on the track. And after Mr Chua said "Everyone, please proceed to the Auditorium." I got some guys to teleport with me, and we gamed the entire morning.

Lunch was with JH (but not chicken rice :D:D). Hahas. He was telling me all about his Kyoto trip. Well for once, he was more interesting that the sashimi in front of me XD

After that, I went for Jap Class outing at Shaw. I think it's my first time catching a movie there, cos I totally didn't know that there is an awesome bubble tea store at the top floor (I always buy from the McCafé at the ground floor).

*SPOILER ALERT!*

2012 = modern chinese made "Noah and the Great Ark"

Except I think that most people on the Ark(s) doesn't really deserve live. How are they more deserving that the rest of mankind to board the ship? (even after they let the thousands of despos-who-paid-million-and-pushed-others-off-the-cliff on board).

Though I wonder, what if this happens in the real world? I probably won't bother to catch the ship. Firstly, I'm not under the "Hollywood Protection Service". Spending the last few moments with those you love seems to be more sensible.

And THANK YOU CHERYL FOR THE TICKET!

After that we went camwhore mode! :D:D I'm such a good photographer but Leona was too good at deleting pictures >.<

Anyways, here's the comic strip:

#On the 19th...

My juniors are so CUTE! They bought me a HUGE milk bottle!!!!! They probably think I'm very childish too >.< Cos the milk bottle seems to suit me quite well.

In the afternoon, I went for dinner @ China Town with the PRC scholars. They ordered so much food that we couldn't finish the meal. I felt kinda of really paiseh cos they didn't have much money (they didn't eat lunch because of this) and yet they didn't want me to pay the bill with them (which was actually quite a lot). As we ate the traditional dishes, it kinda felt like CNY dinner...

After that, I rushed back to hostel to have Laser Tag with the cluster guys. This time was way better than last time's: there was different weapons with realistic weighting, as well as many more sensors. The coolest was the scopes, the rifles has the laser dot in the scope while the sniper rifle has the great zooming lenses.

I was one of the two snipers on my team. The experience was simply beyond words. Although the rifle was ultra heavy, it's so accurate that I always only needed one single bullet to kill each person. Best part was that I could "taunt-kill". Kenneth probably hated me in the game. Each time he popped his head out, I would take away his life and wave "Hi Kenneth!" back at him.

It was kinda hard to use at first cos the sniper rifle really requires steady hands and a fixed way of positioning your eye to aim through the scope. But after that, haha, it's killing time!!! I took away so many lives from afar but I didn't die at all! :D:D

After the game, we witnessed the arrival of 3 different motorbikes. One from KFC, one from Canadian, and one from Mac's. It was really like the last supper (our last nite in hostel btw), 13 of us, with one of them being the "traitor" (PJY from 6B). I couldn't eat a single thing though, the scholars fed me well >.< Only there to drink coke and listen to the birthday song, hahas.

But guess what, the guys were still THIRSTY! And thus, a few of them went to shop for around 40 bottles of 1.5L drinks...with suitcases XD

I think everyone has gone NUTS!!! HAHAHAHAS Certainly hope that everyone had as much fun as I did!!! :D

That's all folks! Looking forward to hang out with the GANG soon. *Please all fly back soon!*

Updates

Okay, I finally got my lappi back. Seems like it was repaired ages ago, just that my dad had been ignoring all the phone calls to pick up the laptop...

The past 10+ days were all filled with stuff, good and bad. But for most days, i'm pipetting away in TLL (mornings), reading in Chemistry Olympiad classes (afternoons), and having Chanbara sessions/watching movies (evenings).

#ARP

For my research project at TLL, my group was perhaps the most "enthu" group in school; we really worked everyday. However, the main reason why we pushed so hard is because we still aren't sure of the project aim. Our scientist mentor does mainly two things: help us with procedures and make fun of us >.< Last Thursday alone felt like April Fools', i was pranked twice by our mentor.

Other than those, we really want something like a clear goal to achieve; we only have pieces of a jigsaw. So I told my group, "Just rush finish the work he has already given us, then he will have to give us more puzzle pieces to help us with the big picture."

Nevertheless, it's a great bonding time for us (with Eefie + Uly). Everyday, we climb the TLL hill (why is the lab built on a hilltop =.=), suffer as our mentor evil-grins at us, facepalm when we cannot find the expected band on the gel picture, have cappuccino while waiting for PCR, and do stupid things like building ice man (when our mentor was out for lunch):

#SChO Trainings

For every disciplined effort there is a multiple reward. - Jim Rohn

>Not valid for Olympiad<

Together with my "back row buddies", no matter how much more we've read, every new question just looks as intimidating as the ones before. Only the "front row people" seems to know what's going on all the time. Thus, each of the 4hrs every afternoon is just PURE torture.

I'm not giving up (cos it's stupid to waste one year like that), but I also really need all the luck I can get in this one.

May the Ultimate Guessing Power be with me again on the 17th.

#Chanbara

This week we had mixed-weaponry. There were spear, katana, dagger, shield, staff, qinata, etc.

Tried every one of those (except nanchuk) and I learnt my lesson: I suck at the staff. Was wacking myself more than the opponent XD The katana and the spear were awesome though, allows for great range and power.

Stupid things happened as usual. During sparring, dunno how, when the 1 minute duel ended, I had one bit of skin less on my left hand...and I didnt even feel the bleeding until I put on the gloves in the later rounds. Must be blinded by excitement ^^

And in the war game, I came face to face with a kodachi wielder while holding a spear. It was like free kill can (cos the spear is so much longer). But then, I stepped onto a pool of water from the rain early in the day, and slipped. Just as my butt got soak with water, the kodachi came down on my body... *sigh* =.=

#Laser Quest
That was last week's Wed. We had two 50 vs 50 standard elimination rounds. Each person had 6 lives and no resets. The game was a big joke however; most people were killed by their own teammates.

Scene 1:
(while Team A was taking the lift)
Person 1: Everyone get ready...
(Door opens...)
Person 2: ENEMY!!!
(Everyone shoots without noticing their other teammates OR the HIGHLY REFLECTIVE lift surface)
Result: Half of Team A eliminated

Scene 2:
(while sniping on the 5th floor)
QC: Hey, there's someone hiding there...
(I took aim and fired a single shot and saw the person's signal light up)
QC: Yea...that WAS accurate...
Result: I killed my team mate =.=

Scene 3:
Eefie (to everyone): I'm moving forward!
(Eefie stood up and ran forward...)
Someone: Enemy running in front of us!
(Everyone spray their bullets at the black figure)
Result: We killed Eefie >.<

Anyways, paint ball is officially cancelled. Seems like we are going to use the money to hold another Laser Quest. Dun like :(

#Tuesday

Was supposed to be SJAB BBQ. Supposed to be...cos I didnt manage to make it there in the end (so I have to promise my juniors that I would join them and go China Town next thurs :P) Spent the afternoon, with Jie Hong, Hui Yee, Rebecca, Ee Fhong, and Jun Wei. Basically, we all bullied Jie Hong. Force him to escort Rebec, as well as into the water at the sky garden. Jun Wei was acting cute throughout, he willingly splashed into the water and soaked his pants :D:D

Meanwhile, JT was at Vivo too (and we all didnt know). What's more, he shot a retarded vid with Nicholas to mock Hui Yee. Best was that I became the "producer" cos I helped him to upload the video:

Original vid with Hui Yee:

JT's vid:

That night was more retarded. Royston smuggled dry ice from his lab and dropped it into a bottle. Then we all took a vid of us sniffing the fumes: looked like we were smoking heroin or something LOL. Hope it never gets onto facebook, hahas.

---------------------------

Okay, I'm tired of typing already. One last song to speak my mind :D

Best & Worst

Last week can be said to be one of the most exciting; full of surprises.

The Good

#SChO

Totally flunk my selection test: 22/60. That gave me the 2nd last position in my class, meaning that I would probably be barred from the opportunity. However, on Thursday, a miracle happened: MOE decided to allow all 27 of us to participate instead of the usual 20! Which explains why QC was super high on thurs and fri :D

#Exams

With ultimate guessing power, I actually A/A*-ed certain papers that I thought I should have failed. In general, it was great. (Except for English which gave me the first C in my entire school life :S)

The Bad

#Mean People

It's already common knowledge that one of my friends did horribly in this semester's exams, and I'm sure that he was already very disappointed and depressed.

However, there were quite a number of tards going around to flip through the teachers' score sheets for my friend's marks, then announcing to the whole world that they have "beaten an A*STAR scholar". The worst thing: they created this "I beat an A*Star Scholar in Chemistry" to openly mock him on facebook.

Seriously, can these people be a little sensitive to other people's feelings and grow up?

#Bus Interchange

Just came back from my Automated External Defibrillator Provider course (passed! ^^). Also collected my OTC certificate and met lots of people whom I haven't seen for weeks. It all seems like a perfect happy ending to this week until...

Was at the bus interchange waiting for the bus. In the usual habit, I placed my hands on the metal railing and got into the day-dreamed mode, staring into the empty space in front. Suddenly, I felt someone place a hand on my left hand. Surprised, I drew my hand away. But almost immediately, a hand was back onto my left hand AGAIN.

This time, I moved my left hand into my pocket instead. But guess what? A whole body shifted and leaned me. I was like, "what a despo, thought this kind of things only happen on TV?" I turned to look at the person's face, that's when I got the worst shock ever...

A guy =____=

--------------

Looking forward to next week:

1)Laser Quest using the school buildings at night

2)Chanbara

3)Paint Ball

And of course I'm bringing my camera to school next week :)

Crazy Crazy Day

Already two cans of root beer downed and my butt is still popping left and right...

The morning began with me waking up at 7 and going to HQ for ANCO opening. Being the emcee for the ceremony turned to be rather smooth sailing, and my first lecture to the 100+ cadets wasn't that bad either.

My greatest fear was that I may make the cadets cry: seeing my newly chosen platoon IC stoning and staring at the floor for minutes really kinda scared me :S

On the other hand, the funny stuff was that during lunch, another fellow officer came to look for me and told me he's scared of my NUSHS cadet. I eventually found out why:

1)my cadet is older than him
2)my cadet is taller than him
3)my cadet is much larger than him
4)my cadet got into a "stare war" with him...and seems like the cadet won...lols

Must say that throughout the whole course, I felt really lousy. I slept for only 2hrs because I watched too much drama the night before. Thus, when I eventually rushed back to school for formal dinner at 5pm, I was like a piece of dead meat...

Didn't even bother dressing up: all I wore was a black shirt with a white reflective tie. Side note is that I should really buy more ties next time: I lent out my piano black slim tie and people were fighting for the neon pink one too. I may make good money if I were to sell them...hahas

The formal dinner itself was utter CRAP! the fact that the caterer is listed for top cheese and wine in SG gotta be a joke. The diet was purely liquid till the lemon salmon...basically, they fed us with lots of fruit punch. I ate very little myself, and gave like almost the rest of the dishes to the hungry ghosts beside me. Fell asleep man...until some retard punched me in the nuts that is =.=

After dinner, it was disco under the lime lights.

At first, I just sat there and watched the jokers make a fool of themselves. A girl from dance club was dancing in the middle, and one stupid guy was like "grinding" behind. She realized that and gently pushed him away. But that despo didn't care, he just kept going back...providing plenty of entertainment for the rest of us...until the girl's friend pushed him away. What a perv! lol

But he wasn't the only one I guess. Later I got a bit high, and then HIGHER, so I started poppin to the music as well (must be JH wacking that stupid rod on my head without realizing it's pure, hard, WOOD). It was fun at first, until gay people started rubbing their butts and bodies against mine =.= WTH...I had to keep moving around to avoid them...

However, they were everywhere. Later, I was poppin alone in the middle of this circle of people. Then one guy came up in front of me. I thought it was going to be a challenge or a battle, and so I started waving and doing all the stuff. His response? totally dominating...he bent so closed to me that I bent backwards and popped all the way to the floor (and nearly sprained my back XD). But he's cool I guess (later found out that he's Nicholas from Cluster 5A); he got the moves.haha

NOW, JH need his lappi back...so up to more movies and games.

The night never ends :)
